Sustainability

KSJM Film actively supports the transition toward circular packaging systems in Australia. Our product engineering focuses on three sustainable pillars:

1. 100% Mono-Material Recyclability

All KSJM stretch films, hand wraps, and stretch hoods are manufactured from 100% pure Polyethylene (LDPE/LLDPE), categorized under Resin Identification Code 4 (LDPE).

Being 100% mono-material, our films are fully compatible with commercial Australian soft-plastic recycling streams without requiring separation of incompatible barrier layers.

2. Source Reduction Through Advanced Down-Gauging

The most effective environmental strategy is using less plastic at the source.

Our multi-layer high-tensile formulations allow warehouses to replace conventional 23µm films with 15µm or 12µm films, reducing the total mass of plastic entering the waste stream by up to 40% per pallet.

3. PCR & PIR Recycled Resin Integration

We offer custom formulations incorporating certified Post-Industrial Recycled (PIR) and Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) polyethylene resin blends (30% to 50% recycled content) for clients aiming to exceed recycled content procurement mandates.

Supports Australian logistics operators and manufacturers in achieving their 2025 National Packaging Targets and environmental sustainability reporting under the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO).
